Faith Charnock wears Luna, a Couture d’Exception piece crafted from the world’s lightest fabric
F
or months, House of Alvin has been quietly creating its most ambitious couture piece to date — a gown crafted from the world’s lightest fabric and brought to life through over 2,700 hours of craftsmanship.
To mark its unveiling, the House collaborated with director Jade Kong on a film conceived to reveal the piece not simply as a dress, but as myth, movement, and emotion — the long-awaited arrival of a creation that captivated millions before it was ever seen in full.
Luna stands as an example of House of Alvin’s Couture d’Exception — the House’s most ambitious expression of imagination, technique, and material experimentation.
Crafted over 10 weeks, forty metres of super organza were meticulously hand-pleated and steam-shaped by the House of Alvin atelier. Echoing the weightlessness of the original fabric, the piece forms a three-dimensional butterfly silhouette through complex architectural construction, transforming fragility into structure. The look is completed with a three-metre hanfu bolero, extending the garment into a vision of movement, myth, and flight.
